Written and recorded in Chinatown, Liverpool, Nov 2017
Cassettes are a curious thing. It was late 2017 and we were going on tour with Veda around Andalucia, southern Spain, fittingly called the tour Al-Andalust. We had basically no merch so I came up with the idea of recording some Synthpop Romance cassettes on some blank tapes I had laying around. The tracklist consisted of Synthpop Romance and Other Side of the Sun on Side A, and Pink Starship and Fly Away on Side B. But I had about 1:35 mins of silence leftover on Side A, what a waste of tape. I needed to fill that somehow so I went into the studio and came up with this outro for Other Side of the Sun in about 1h, problem solved. We only recorded 20 tapes of that run so until today there there was a pretty limited chance of listening to this, since this is the first time it's getting digitally released.
It's a very chill, very nostalgic and lo-fi casiotone driven instrumental track, it fitted like a glove on that cassette. Quite literally, it was just the right length.
